Tigri Ganga Fair 2026: 18 committees formed for the grand event in Amroha

To provide unprecedented divinity and grandeur to the famous and historical State Tigri Ganga Fair 2026 of Western Uttar Pradesh, Amroha District Administration has intensified preparations on war footing on the ground. Lakhs of devotees, saints and tourists from all over the country are likely to gather in this traditional fair organized on the banks of Ganga on the auspicious occasion of Kartik Purnima. The administrative staff has started the formal process of marking the land and preparing the layout in the Mela area to set up a temporary spiritual city of tents on the sandy banks of the Ganga. With the aim of keeping the event smooth, safe and organized, 18 special committees have been formed by the district administration, in which 50 top officers and employees of the district have been assigned important responsibilities as chairpersons and assistants. Clear instructions have been issued to all the committees to reach the fair venue with immediate effect and speed up the development works related to their respective departments.

This year’s main bathing festival will be held on 24th November at Tigri Ganga Mela, the great confluence of rich folk culture and faith of Western Uttar Pradesh. Apart from Uttar Pradesh, a large number of devotees from Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Punjab and Uttarakhand reach Tigri Dham to take a dip in the holy stream of Mother Ganga on the full moon date of Kartik month. Keeping in mind the stay, food and religious rituals of the villagers camping with their families in this huge sandy courtyard of faith, the district administration is making arrangements on a large scale. Security and technical mechanisms are being fully activated to control the huge crowd of devotees thronging the Ganga ghats on the day of the main bath, to prevent them from going into deep water and to provide easy bathing.

To make the arrangements of Tigri Mela modern and convenient for the public, the administration has divided the works at the micro level. Among the 18 committees formed, the prominent ones are Tent and Furniture Committee, Ghat, Barricading and Barrier Committee, Layout Temporary Road and Tin Facing Committee, Electricity Arrangement Committee and Flood Reduction Arrangement Committee for protection from the flow of Ganga. A cultural program committee has been formed for the entertainment and religious enjoyment of the devotees, while the food hub committee will remain active to ensure the quality of food. Along with this, Drinking Water Arrangement Committee, Toilet and Sanitation Arrangement Committee and Transparent Allocation and Fee Determination Committee for shops set up in the fair area have been brought to the ground. For the intellectual and technical promotion of the fair, Development and Agricultural Exhibition Arrangement Committee, Pandal and Allotment Committee, Sports Development Committee, Table Book Creation, Security Committee, Network Committee for Digital Communication, Cleanliness Committee after the completion of the fair and Souvenir, Logo and Website Management Committee have also been implemented.

To strengthen the administrative command of the fair, clear division of responsibilities has been made. Garima Singh, Additional District Magistrate (Finance and Revenue) of the district, has been named chairperson of 8 out of 18 most important committees, whose responsibilities will be financial allocation, creation of infrastructure and systemic coordination. The leadership of other major committees has been entrusted to ADM (Judicial) Dhirendra Pratap Singh, Deputy Director Agriculture Mahendra Pal, Additional Superintendent of Police Akhilesh Bhadauria, District Excise Officer and Chief Development Officer (CDO). Under the supervision of these officers, the police and administrative staff will ensure that no devotee coming to the fair faces any inconvenience related to electricity, water, health or security. A blueprint is also being prepared for special barricading and deployment of divers on the sensitive ghats of the fast flowing Ganga.

Keeping in mind the large-scale arrival of State Government Ministers, MPs, MLAs and other special dignitaries at the State Tigri Ganga Mela, a special two-member Protocol Arrangement Committee has been constituted. The entire responsibility of this committee has been handed over to Tehsil Dhanaura Sub-District Magistrate (Judicial) Reetu Kumari and Deputy Superintendent of Police (CO Dhanaura) Anjali Kataria. This high level protocol committee will monitor the movement, stay, security arrangements and program coordination of all the public representatives and VIP guests coming during the fair, so that there is no hindrance in the movement of common devotees in the main fair area. It is clear from these advance preparations being done at the administrative level that the complete plan has been prepared to make Tigri Ganga Mela 2026 historic in terms of security, cleanliness and grandeur.
