Blunt demand of Hindu organizations: ‘Not 5 days of puja, security is needed for 365 days of the year’

After these continuous attacks and increasing atrocities on Hindu minorities, the major Hindu organizations there have taken a strong stand against the interim government and administrative officials. ‘Bangladesh Puja Udyapan Parishad’ and other Hindu organizations have jointly appealed to the country’s administration to take strict and effective steps to immediately stop these communal attacks.

General Secretary of Bangladesh Puja Udyapan Parishad Santosh Sharma While talking to the media, he said a very important and deep thing. He stressed that the main objective of holy religious festivals like Durga Puja should be to unite people of all communities of the society with love and brotherhood and not to spread hatred. He said that there is a dire need to keep alive the old tradition of communal harmony in the country. However, he also clarified that merely providing tight police security during the five days of puja is not enough. The courage of the miscreants is so high that they attack anytime, hence the security of Hindu minorities and their religious places in Bangladesh is at an all-time high. 365 days i.e. whole year This should be ensured, only then they will be able to feel safe.

Anxiety increases during festivals amid claims of administration

The occurrence of such violence and threats in Bangladesh every year as Durga Puja approaches is a big stain on the human rights of the minorities there. Although the local administration and police officials always claim that tight security will be provided to all the puja pandals and no miscreant will be spared, but the ground reality exposes these claims.

These 34 incidents continuously coming to light across the country have proved that there is no fear of law left in the minds of fundamentalist forces. Despite this, the Hindu community of Bangladesh is ready to worship Maa Durga with full devotion, courage and traditional joy. Peace-loving citizens of the entire country are hoping that in the coming days, this great festival of Durga Puja can be completed in a completely peaceful manner without any major untoward incident, so that brotherhood and mutual harmony can be maintained.
