
The golden opportunity for 12th pass youth to get government jobs in various ministries, departments and constitutional bodies of the Central Government has now reached its final stage. The last date for online applications for approximately 2,536 probable vacancies announced under the Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination (SSC CHSL 2026) conducted by the Staff Selection Commission ends tomorrow, October 7 at 11:00 pm. The Commission has clarified that to avoid huge pressure and technical problems on the server at the last moment, candidates should complete their applications on time without any delay. Lakhs of youth from Lucknow, Prayagraj, Kanpur, Varanasi of Uttar Pradesh and across the country are registering on the official website ssc.gov.in to participate in this recruitment process.
Through this recruitment drive, important posts of Group ‘C’ will be filled in different offices of the Government of India:

Name of posts: Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA), Data Entry Operator (DEO) and Data Entry Operator Grade ‘A’.

Pay Scale: Salary will be payable under 7th Pay Commission Pay Level 2 (₹19,900 to ₹63,200) for LDC and JSA posts and Pay Level 4 (₹25,500 to ₹81,100) and Pay Level 5 (₹29,200 to ₹92,300) for DEO posts.

Educational qualification: It is mandatory to have passed minimum 12th (Intermediate) or equivalent from any recognized board. For the post of DEO in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs and selected departments, Science along with Mathematics has been made mandatory in 12th.

Age Limit: The age of the candidate should be between 18 to 27 years, which will be calculated as on 1st August 2026. In reserved categories, there is a provision of relaxation in upper age limit up to 3 years for OBC, 5 years for SC/ST and 10 years for Disabled (PwBD) category.
The application process on the new portal of SSC is completely digital. Candidates should have the following valid documents and details ready while filling the form:

Aadhar Card or other valid government photo identity card (PAN Card, Voter ID, Passport or Driving License).

Class 10th (High School) mark sheet and certificate (For verification of name, father’s name and date of birth).

Original mark sheet and passing certificate of class 12th (Intermediate).

Caste Certificate: Valid reservation certificate issued by the competent authority for OBC, EWS, SC, ST category candidates.

Disability Certificate (PwBD Certificate): Certificate from a competent medical board in the prescribed format, if applicable.

Live Webcam Photo: Under the new rule of SSC, instead of uploading a pre-taken photograph, a live photograph is captured on the portal. For this, it is important that the background be plain and the face clearly visible.

Signature: JPEG scanned copy of signature made on white paper in clear black or blue ink (10 to 20 KB size).

Active Email ID and Mobile Number: On which OTP of OTR registration and further information can be sent.
Candidates can submit the application from their computer or smartphone in these easy steps without relying on any cyber café:

First of all go to the new official web portal of Staff Selection Commission ssc.gov.in.

If you have not registered on the new portal, first ‘One-Time Registration’ (OTR) Complete. Already registered candidates should login directly with their registration ID and password.

After login on candidate dashboard ‘Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination, 2026’ Click on the ‘Apply’ link given in front.

Select 3 preferred exam centers as per your educational qualification, marks and your region in the form.

Click your live photo in clear light through webcam or mobile camera and upload the digital signature.

Check the preview of the form carefully and pay the prescribed application fee.

The application fee for male candidates of General, OBC and EWS categories is ₹ 100, while for all female candidates, SC, ST, Divyang and Ex-Servicemen the application is completely free.

After submitting the fees, take a print out of the final confirmation page or save the PDF safely.
According to the official timeline released by the Commission, the last date for submission of online applications is tomorrow, October 7 till 11:00 pm only. For those candidates who submit the form by last night, the last date for online fee payment is 8th October (11:00 PM). If any technical or personal error remains in the application, the ‘Application Form Correction Window’ will be opened by the Commission from October 14 to October 16 (11:00 PM). During this period, necessary corrections can be made in the form by paying the prescribed amendment fee. The dates of Computer Based Tier-1 Examination will be announced by the Commission soon through a separate notice.
