Lucknow, 3 October. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath made a strong attack on the previous SP government and said that scholarships for Scheduled Castes and Tribes were not sent in 2016-17. The then government ate this scholarship. When our government was formed in 2017, we sent the scholarships for 2016-17 and 2017-18 together. Earlier only Rs 2900 crore scholarship was given. Today our government gives scholarships worth Rs 6200 crore (more than double).
The Chief Minister on Saturday transferred scholarship/fee reimbursement worth more than Rs 148 crore to the accounts of more than 4.60 lakh students of 10th (9-10) and 10th classes at Lok Bhavan for the current financial year and also handed over scholarship certificates to 11 students with his own hands. CM assured that there is no shortage of money for the students. Every eligible child will get scholarship, the left out children should also apply soon. While guiding the children, he said that they should spend the scholarship amount on education instead of food. Buy better text books and reference books than this. Along with the curriculum, read autobiographies of great men, informative and religious books, increase your book bank. The government is giving tablets to two crore youth, 60 lakh have already received them. The remaining will also be given soon.
Now scholarship goes directly into account
CM said that earlier only 60-70 out of 100 children used to get the benefit of scholarship. Babu and other people used to rob it, the student used to get cheated. The fare for the youth was more than that in traveling for scholarship. But, today after opening an account the students’ money is sent directly into it. This system was not there in our time, but Modi ji got bank accounts opened on zero account.
Scholarship/fee reimbursement to more than 4 crore children in 9 years
CM Yogi said that last year scholarships worth Rs 6200 crore were distributed to 69 lakh children. More than 4 crore children have received scholarship-fee reimbursement in 9 years, whereas before 2017 this amount and the number of students were also less. Earlier governments did not encourage the youth nor did they provide scholarships on time.
Government sets deadline for giving scholarships
CM said that last year, scholarship worth Rs 2750 crore was given to 26.26 lakh students of Scheduled Caste and Tribe, Rs 360 crore was given to 5.89 lakh children of minority category and Rs 3072 crore was given to 37 lakh students of backward class. In this sequence, scholarships were given to 9.40 lakh children of low income group. The government has fixed the deadline for distribution of scholarships. After the completion of the admission process, the scholarship amount started being sent to the account. It was decided that under all circumstances the funds should reach the students by 2nd October (3rd October due to holidays) and 26th January.
Scooty will be given to 50,000 meritorious girls next month
The Chief Minister said that earlier the youth used to go to other states to prepare for JEE and NEET. Now young Chief Minister Abhyudaya is taking advantage of this through coaching. CM gave detailed information about Chief Minister Kanya Sumangala Scheme and Chief Minister Mass Marriage Scheme. He said that next month he will give scooties to 50,000 meritorious girls. Before 2017, Saifai Syndicate had no leisure in looting. For these people who thought about their families, other people of the state were strangers, but now UP has moved on the path of prosperity.
No one should be left out, money should go to the child’s account every month.
CM told the Social Welfare, Backward Class Welfare Department, Minority Welfare Department that money should go into the child’s account every month, no eligible child should be left out. Last time, due to various reasons, 4 lakh children of SC-ST category could not get scholarship. Then the portal was corrected, now those underprivileged children are also going to get scholarship. No child should be deprived of education due to lack of funds. Scholarship will provide support to students from low income families.
Will provide scholarship to every eligible child
CM said that scholarship will be provided to every eligible child. Today 4.60 lakh children are getting scholarship. It has to reach 70 lakh children. Modi ji’s technology campaign stopped burglaries, now no one can burglarize children’s scholarships. The government has so far given government jobs to about 10 lakh youth. One lakh more youth will get jobs in six months. You also prepare hard, you will definitely get the job.
If efforts are made honestly then the results will also be favorable.
Giving the example of the ministers sitting on the stage, the Chief Minister told the youth that there is no alternative to hard work. If efforts are made honestly, the results will also be favourable. Giving the example of the struggles of Cabinet Minister Omprakash Rajbhar, he said that hard work brings results. Minister of State Sanjeev Gond used to wander in the forests, he felt that he should not run after a job, but should raise the voice of the public and the tribal community. Minister Aseem Arun has been IPS as ADG and Police Commissioner of Kanpur. Danish Azad Ansari and Narendra Kashyap also continued doing social work with struggle. SC-ST Commission Chairman Baijnath Rawat is a former MLA/MP. Now all these people, as ministers, find ways to solve public problems.
CM said to children – your generation is fortunate
CM told the children that your generation is fortunate that they are studying in UP at a time when there is no identity crisis. Before 2017, there were no teachers in the schools and the buildings were dilapidated. The drop out rate in Basic Education Council (1st to 8th) was 19-20 percent. The government was not interested in fixing it. When we conducted a study after the government was formed, we found out that most of the girls left school because there were no facilities for toilets and drinking water etc. We improved it through Operation Kayakalp. Now, along with separate toilets, drinking water, furniture, flooring etc., they are providing two uniforms, bags, books, sweaters, shoes-socks etc. for boys and girls.
Now UPwala walks with his chest held high
CM said that 1.60 crore children of Basic Education Council are getting this facility. Before 2017, schools were deserted and did not have facilities. Now Atal Residential Schools have been built in 18 divisions for construction workers, orphans and destitute children. 18,000 children have been admitted in these. The government is providing upbringing, good environment and good education to these children. Now there are Kasturba Gandhi Vidyalayas in 746 development blocks for girls from poor families. These were increased from 8th to 12th. For the children of weak, backward and SC-ST category, there are residential schools of Jaiprakash Narayan Ashram system, PMShree Vidyalaya. Under Project Alankar, new buildings of more than 2300 schools have been constructed. There are facilities of new lab, library, Atal Tickering Lab, Digital Library, Smart Class etc. Now the high school-inter examination is held in 15 days and the result also comes in 15 days. Earlier the state was called Bimaru due to lack of education. Now the revenue surplus UP is contributing to the development of India. Now the ‘UP guy’ walks with his chest held high.
Uttar Pradesh moved in the right direction
CM said that UP has now moved in the right direction. The youth are the charioteers of UP. He told the children that when you will be 36-37 years old, then by 2047 you will get a happy and prosperous India. You will also have to contribute for this, because nothing can be greater than the country. If the country remains happy, prosperous and safe, we will also remain.
