On the instructions of CM Yogi, relief operation on war footing in flood affected areas of Lucknow, DM took command

Following the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the district administration in Lucknow has intensified relief and rescue operations amid the rising water level of Gomti River. District Magistrate Visakh ji on Sunday. And Joint Commissioner of Police Bablu Kumar inspected the affected areas including Barawan Kala, Saitha, Jehta, Mall Road and Faizullaganj by land and boat and inspected the arrangements. The officials gave instructions to conduct relief and rescue operations on a war footing, giving top priority to the safety of the affected citizens.

Emphasis on safe shifting of pregnant women, children and elderly

During inspection in village Saitha, the District Magistrate directed the City Magistrate to immediately shift pregnant women, children and elderly people to safe places on priority basis. It was asked to ensure immediate arrangement of 10 boats to take the affected people to safe places. Information about health services in relief camps was also taken and instructions were given to provide adequate medicines to the needy.

Relief kits reaching every home, provision of food and fodder for animals

District Magistrate Visakh ji. Iyer said that teams of officers and employees have been active in the affected areas since morning. Relief kits are being delivered to every home through boats. Along with providing food and necessary relief materials to the affected families, instructions have been given to arrange adequate hay and fodder for the animals. The health department has been asked to prepare adequate kits of essential medicines and deliver them to the affected areas.

Surveillance even at night, additional control room to be built in Dawood Nagar

In Faizullaganj, District Magistrate and Joint Police Commissioner Bablu Kumar inspected the boat-affected settlements and interacted with the local people to get information about the relief arrangements. To strengthen the security system, instructions were given to increase night police patrolling in the affected areas. It has been asked to set up additional control room in Dawood Nagar, so that immediate action can be taken on the complaints and needs of the citizens. Officials have been instructed to constantly keep an eye on the water level and sensitive areas of Gomti and remain present at the spot to monitor the relief and rescue operations.
