Nearly ₹2,200 crore invested in Uttar Pradesh through Prime Minister Micro Food Processing Enterprises Upgradation Scheme, Keshav Prasad Maurya

Keshav Prasad Maurya said that women in the villages of Uttar Pradesh have skills, products and hard work. The double engine government is working to provide market, technology and global platform to these products. With value addition to agricultural and horticultural products through food processing, new employment and entrepreneurship opportunities are being created for farmers, women and youth.

He said that the priority of the government is that the village produce should not be limited to the village, but should reach the markets of the country and the world. Making the products of food processing units available in the international market is an important step towards women empowerment and strengthening the rural economy. He said that UPITS-2026 has become an important medium to connect the products of Uttar Pradesh with the global market. A total of 16 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) have been signed at the event by the Department of Food Processing, amounting to approximately US$ 50,000. These agreements will help in connecting the state’s food processing enterprises and products to the international market and developing new export opportunities.

Detailed information was given about Food Processing Industry Policy-2023, departmental schemes including PMFME, investment possibilities, modern processing technology, value addition of products and expansion in domestic and international markets. Special Secretary, Horticulture and Food Processing Department, Shri Raj Kamal Yadav, IAS and Shri B.L. Presentation on schemes and policy provisions was given by Meena, IAS. Important information related to food processing, entrepreneurship and modern technologies was also shared by experts.

Shri Maurya, Uttar Pradesh is now moving rapidly in the direction of ‘Local to Global’. The government’s effort is to increase the value of farmers’ produce, provide market to the hard work of village women, provide employment to the youth and make the products of Uttar Pradesh recognized at the world level. This is the resolve of the double engine government towards developed Uttar Pradesh and developed India.
