Latest prices of LPG: New prices of domestic and commercial LPG cylinders released on September 20, know the rate of your city.

Without any emergency, domestic LPG prices do not see major changes in the middle of the month, thus providing continuity to the general public in budget planning.

There is slight variation in the prices of domestic gas cylinders in major cities of the country due to local VAT, state taxes and freight charges. The estimated retail rates of 14.2 kg domestic cylinder in various major cities on September 20 are as follows:

In the country’s capital New Delhi, domestic gas cylinder is stable in the range of around ₹ 803 to ₹ 840. In the financial capital Mumbai, its price is being recorded around ₹ 802.50 to ₹ 840. Whereas in Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal, due to local taxes, this cylinder is being sold at the level of around ₹ 829 to ₹ 850. The price of a 14.2 kg domestic cylinder in Chennai, the major metropolis of South India, is around ₹ 818 to ₹ 845.

This stability is of great relief to domestic consumers as the consumption of food and household gas naturally increases during the festive season.

Domestic consumers in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar have to pay slightly more than in metros due to the addition of local taxes and transportation costs.

In Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, the price of 14.2 kg domestic gas cylinder remained stable at around ₹ 979.50 today. Similarly, in Kanpur, Varanasi, Prayagraj and Agra, domestic cylinder rates are running in the range of ₹ 940 to ₹ 980. In Bihar’s Patna, Gaya and Muzaffarpur, a 14.2 kg LPG cylinder is available at around ₹900 to ₹1,020 due to logistics and state-level taxes.

A 19 kg commercial gas cylinder is very important for hotels, restaurants, dhabas, confectioners and small and big food businessmen. Commercial cylinder prices directly affect the cost of eating out and the budget of catering services.

As on September 20, a 19 kg commercial cylinder in New Delhi is hovering around ₹1,650 to ₹1,720, while in Mumbai its rate is around ₹1,600 to ₹1,675. The price of commercial gas in Kolkata is around ₹1,760 to ₹1,830. Whereas in Lucknow and surrounding districts, 19 kg blue commercial cylinder is currently being sold in the local wholesale and retail bracket of ₹ 1,900 to ₹ 2,860. Since the work of sweets and outdoor catering increases during the festive season, commercial establishments keep an eye on these rates on a daily basis.

In Delhi and NCR cities (Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram), its refilling is available around ₹ 315 to ₹ 340. Like before, the benefit of special subsidy on LPG cylinders to crores of poor and rural families of the country enrolled under the Central Government’s ‘Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana’ (PMUY) is being directly transferred (DBT) to their bank accounts. A targeted subsidy of ₹300 per cylinder is provided to Ujjwala beneficiaries by the central government, making a 14.2 kg domestic cylinder much cheaper than the market rate for them.

This subsidy is credited to the account of Ujjwala beneficiaries only when their bank account is linked to Aadhaar and the e-KYC process has been successfully completed in the records of the gas agency.
