Thousands of people took to the streets in Nepal's capital Kathmandu to bring back the monarchy and make the country a Hindu nation again. During this time he also clashed with the police.
The monarchy in Nepal ended with the abdication of former King Gyanendra in 2008. However, there is still a large section in Nepal that supports the monarchy. The people of Nepal took out a rally and tried to reach the PM's office demanding implementation of monarchy and giving back the status of Hindu nation to the country. An attempt was also made to break the barricades put up on the road by the police to stop the people.
The police lathicharged the protesters and also used water cannons. Although no protesters were seriously injured, the Nepal government is surprised by the growing trend of people in the country towards monarchy and Hindu nation.
This rally was announced by a party called Rashtriya Prajatantra Party or Rashtriya Loktantrik Party, which is considered to be a supporter of King Gyanendra. The protesters chanted slogans like “Bring back the monarchy…end democracy”. People said that we love our king more than our lives.
People also demanded to make Nepal a Hindu nation again. In 2007, the Constitution of Nepal was amended and it was given the status of a secular country. At that time, King Gyanendra also faced a lot of opposition and because of this he had to abdicate the throne. Two years later, Parliament voted to abolish the monarchy. After that King Gyanendra is living life like a common man.
Supporters of the monarchy are accusing the country's political parties of mismanagement and corruption. He says that people are not happy with the politicians. After the end of the monarchy, 13 governments have been formed in Nepal, but these governments remain stuck between India and China and do not work.
Recently in Nepal, PM Pushpa Kamal Dahal Pranchad broke the alliance with Nepali Congress and has now formed the government with KP Sharma Oli's Communist Party of Nepal. Whose inclination is towards China.
