Paris: You and I sometimes take an appointment in advance to meet a doctor regarding our health so that we do not have to stand in a long queue after going to the doctor. Sometimes due to some other work we have to cancel the appointment and sometimes due to other reasons we are not able to reach the doctor.
This may be a common thing to do in India or most countries, but France is going to bring a new law in which you can be fined for not attending a doctor's appointment. Now in France, if you have taken an appointment with a doctor and you do not have any special reason behind taking the appointment with the doctor, then you can be fined 5 euros.
The French government is going to take this step from January next year. This decision has been taken in view of the deteriorating health service in France, shortage of staff and increasing demand for doctors.
French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal proposed
French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal has announced a fine of 5 euros on patients to boost health services that are collapsing due to staff shortages, rising costs and increasing demand. The PM said that in a country with a population of 7 crores, every year 2.7 crore people do not come even after taking time. “We cannot let this continue,” he said.
