Facing expectations and reality after BDS
Charul also started like a common medical student. After completing Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from a private college, he felt that now there would be financial stability in his life. But in the initial days of his career, when he got a very low salary compared to his years of hard work and family expenses, he became aware of the ground reality. This was the time when he started thinking afresh about his future and career.
Journey from big hospitals of Delhi to KGMU Lucknow
Being the eldest daughter of the society and a traditional family, there was immense pressure on her to get married early. With age, family members started emphasizing on marriage more than career. But Charul did not compromise with his dreams. He served as Non-PG Junior Resident in prestigious hospitals like Safdarjung, Vardhman Mahavir Medical College (VMMC) and Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia in Delhi. He also continued to prepare for his competitive exams, resulting in him clearing NEET-PG and completing his Masters in Pediatric Dentistry from the prestigious King George’s Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow.
Hard work paid off, salary reached lakhs
Charul traveled a long and illustrious journey in the medical field. His journey, which started with around Rs 92 thousand per month as a junior resident, reached Rs 1 lakh per month during his Masters and then Rs 1.25 lakh per month by the time he became a senior resident. Her career was progressing rapidly, but in the meanwhile new responsibilities knocked in her life and she got married to an Indian Army officer.
Maternity, transfer and legal battle in High Court
Due to his army job, the husband was posted at different places, due to which he had to change many cities. During this time she also became a mother. She also completed long hospital shifts while being pregnant and taking care of her newborn baby. But the biggest turning point in his life came when during his senior residency he had to face a lot of trouble regarding the maternity leave of the bonded doctors. Dr. Charul was not one to accept defeat. For his rights he moved the Allahabad High Court, fought a long legal battle and ultimately won. This experience changed his entire thinking and made him realize how important it is to create an independent identity for himself.
Stepped into digital world and earned Rs 2 lakh in 45 days
It had become almost impossible to continue regular clinical practice due to my husband’s posting in remote areas. In such a situation, instead of getting defeated by circumstances, he chose a new path. For about six months, he deeply understood the intricacies of digital marketing and online business. After this, in June 2025, he started his own digital venture, the foundation of which was laid on personal branding and storytelling. His start was so great that within just 45 days he earned Rs 2 lakh.
Now women’s lives are changing by becoming ‘digital mentors’
His hard work quickly bore fruit in the digital world. Gradually his clients increased and today his income from digital business has far left his old doctor’s handsome salary far behind. Currently, Dr. Charul is imparting training in digital skills and personal branding to women and youth starting their careers through ‘Charul’s Inner Circle’.
