According to the data received from the department, in the last 10 days, a record 142 teachers and their family members have availed the facility of completely cashless treatment under this scheme. These teachers receiving treatment include heart disease, kidney problem, cancer and major operations like knee replacement. Due to the network spread in the districts from Western UP to Purvanchal, teachers are getting treatment facilities in big corporate hospitals at the local level, which has freed them from running to big cities like Delhi or Lucknow.
State health card made the path of treatment easier
To avail the benefits of this scheme, teachers just have to show their ‘State Health Card’ at the Ayushman/cashless counter of the hospital. After this, the hospital administration itself starts the treatment process by taking approval from the department. Secondary and basic education associations have also appreciated this step of the government. Teachers say that with the implementation of this scheme, the fear of huge medical expenses from lakhs of employees of the department has gone away forever. The government is now considering further increasing the scope of this scheme and the number of hospitals so that teachers posted in every corner of the state can get prompt treatment.
