Giving top priority to the safety of children, District Magistrates (DM) of nine major districts of Western UP including Meerut, Hapur and Baghpat have issued an emergency order today, Friday, July 10, 2026, for complete closure of all government, aided and private schools up to class 12th. Due to continuous torrential rains, life in these areas has been adversely affected.

Major accident due to wall collapse in Bulandshahr, roads sunken due to waterlogging in Ghaziabad-Noida
This monsoon rain has also started writing stories of devastation in many parts of Uttar Pradesh. Bulandshahr police officer Shobhit Kumar said that due to the pressure of torrential rains, a huge wall suddenly collapsed in Mundakheda village of the district at around 5 pm. Six laborers, who were living in a temporary tent next to an empty plot, were badly buried under the debris. The local police and rescue team immediately reached the spot and took everyone out, but unfortunately in this tragic accident, two people died on the spot, while four others were seriously injured. On the other hand, in Ghaziabad and Noida adjacent to Delhi, roads have turned into oceans due to heavy rains, causing hours-long traffic jams. In Ghaziabad’s Vasundhara Sector-13 area, due to heavy water pressure, a large part of a main road turned into a deep pit and sank, due to which the administration immediately sealed that route.
