Vincent John is originally from Thoothukudi district of Tamil Nadu. Educated from a good English medium school, Vincent is unmarried. He started his career as a tourist guide in Delhi in the 1980s. He never allowed the staff to touch his bag during security check. When he had to leave the hotel, he would leave the bag containing newspapers in the room so that the housekeeping staff would think that the guest was still staying in the hotel and no one would suspect anything.
