The weather patterns are going to change rapidly once again and the next 80 hours may prove to be very sensitive for many parts of the country. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a fresh and very serious warning saying that a new strong weather system is becoming active. Due to its impact, there is a possibility of torrential to extremely heavy rains in many states within the next three to four days. During this time, not only will it rain, but there will also be a storm from the sky and strong cyclonic winds blowing at a speed of 60 kilometers per hour, which can completely disrupt normal life.

The most dangerous effect of the new weather system will be seen in these states

According to senior scientists of IMD, a trough line is becoming active due to moist winds rising from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea. Its maximum impact will be seen in the plains of North-West and Central India as well as in the coastal areas. Monsoon-like aggressive rains may begin in many states including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Delhi-NCR after the next 80 hours. The Meteorological Department has also instructed the local administration of these areas to be alert and make preparations in advance to deal with waterlogging.

Winds will blow at a speed of 60 km, there is also a possibility of thunder and hailstorm

The biggest concern during this new seasonal change is about strong winds and lightning strikes. According to the bulletin of the Meteorological Department, when this system is fully active, there will be strong gusty winds at a speed of 50 to 60 kilometers per hour along with dust storm. There is a strong possibility of lightning in many sensitive areas and hailstorm at some places. In such a situation, people have been advised to avoid standing under tall trees, electric poles and unpaved houses or hoardings during storms.

Orange and yellow alert issued at local level, special instructions to tourists

Considering the geographical location and local weather, the risk of heavy landslides has increased in hilly states like Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. The Meteorological Department has issued ‘Orange Alert’ in many districts of these states. Along with this, ‘Yellow Alert’ has been issued in the plains and people have been advised not to come out of their homes without any reason. Tourists planning to travel to hilly or coastal areas over the weekend and in the coming days have been especially advised to postpone their trip or exercise extreme caution, as flash floods may block routes.
