US-Iran Peace Deal: Israel launches major attack on Lebanon amidst US-Iran agreement, Tehran enraged, Trump gives advice to Netanyahu

Immediately after the historic interim agreement to end the war between America and Iran, tension in West Asia (Middle East) has once again reached its peak. Amidst the announcement of this peace agreement, the Israeli army has carried out a series of horrific attacks in southern Lebanon. Iran has claimed that Israel has openly violated the ceasefire implemented in Lebanon. Tehran has given a stern warning to Israel, saying that it will soon launch a major military counter-attack against this aggression. Along with this, Iran has also warned America that violation of any provision of the agreement will lead to serious consequences.

Historic peace agreement to be signed in Switzerland on Friday

It is noteworthy that a complete agreement has been reached between America and Iran to end the fierce war that has been going on for the last 107 days and to reopen the world’s most important trade waterway ‘Strait of Hormuz’. This historic peace agreement (MoU) between the two countries will be officially signed on Friday (June 19) at the Burgenstock Resort in Switzerland. Under this agreement, the US Navy will lift the blockade of Iran’s ports and the flow of oil to global markets will resume smoothly.

‘If America had not been there, Israel would have been destroyed’ – Trump’s big statement

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump has given a very shocking and big statement regarding Israel and its Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. “If America had not been there, Israel would have been completely destroyed today,” Trump said during a joint press conference with Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in Evian, France.

Trump gave strict advice to Israeli PM Netanyahu and said that he should immediately stop any more attacks on Lebanon. Israel should act more responsibly in this area. Expressing sadness over the current plight of Lebanon, Trump said, “This is the same country that was once known for the best teachers, doctors and lawyers, but today the situation here has become worse.” Trump also added that it is absolutely wrong to demolish an entire residential building to target a single enemy, as it also kills many innocent civilians. Trump suggested that the responsibility of dealing with Hezbollah could be handed over to Syria.

Netanyahu’s stance tough – ‘Whether there is an agreement or not, we will not allow Iran to make nuclear weapons’

On the other hand, the news of the US-Iran agreement has caused a political upheaval within Israel. There is huge resentment among the Israeli public and government allies regarding this agreement. Leaders of the opposition and the ruling coalition have termed it a ‘historic failure’ of Israel. Amidst this all-round criticism, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has strongly defended his steps. “No matter what agreement is reached between Washington and Tehran, Iran will neither have nuclear weapons today nor tomorrow,” Netanyahu said in harsh words.

Addressing the public, Netanyahu said that it was only because of his tough decisions that the threat of immediate destruction looming over Israel could be averted. Acknowledging speculation of differences with the US President, he said, “There are times when President Trump and I do not have the same views, but I have to protect Israel’s security interests at all costs.” Along with this, Netanyahu has clearly ruled out the possibility of withdrawing his forces from southern Lebanon, which defense analysts are considering as the biggest obstacle in the way of this peace agreement.
