A very big and wonderful good news has emerged for the tourists who go to the mountains during the summer season or on weekends to get relief from the hectic and pollution-filled life of Delhi-NCR. Travelers going to Nainital, the beautiful hill station of Uttarakhand, are now going to get freedom forever from the long and tiring traffic jams on the roads. After the completion of the government’s new and ambitious expressway project, the distance from Delhi to Nainital will now be greatly reduced. The journey which earlier took a whole day, can now be completed in just 3 hours. With the introduction of this new route, not only will there be huge saving of time, but the journey through the mountains will also be reduced to half and very comfortable. Let us know from the perspective of a ground reporter what is the route of this new expressway and what are the major benefits it will bring to the passengers.
You will get relief from heavy traffic and hours long jams on the old route forever.
Currently if a person travels to Nainital by road from Delhi, he has to pass through heavily trafficked areas like Moradabad, Rampur, Bilaspur and Rudrapur or Bazpur. Due to traffic jams, single lane roads and heavy vehicle movement on this traditional route, it takes at least 6 to 7 hours to reach Nainital from Delhi. During weekends and holidays, this time increases to 8 to 9 hours, due to which half of the tourists’ energy gets wasted during the journey itself. But the new expressway has been prepared to eliminate this entire problem, which will directly connect the foothills of the mountains with the country’s capital.
Know what is the route of the new expressway and how the journey through the mountains will be halved.
This new high-speed corridor, being built by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), has been designed in such a way that it will connect to the Delhi-Meerut Expressway and the new forward link highway. This modern expressway will bypass major cities of Uttar Pradesh and directly reach Haldwani and Kathgodam in Udham Singh Nagar district, which is said to be the main gateway to Nainital. This entire route is being converted into a four-lane and six-lane concrete road, on which vehicles will be able to run at a speed of 100 to 120 kilometers per hour without any hindrance. After reaching Kathgodam, the hill climb of Nainital begins, due to which the total journey from Delhi to the Queen of Hills will be reduced to just 180 minutes i.e. around 3 hours.
Tourism will get a huge boost, faces of local businessmen will be bright
This historic decision of halving the travel time and construction work is expected to bring a huge boom in the tourism industry of Uttarakhand. Now people of Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad and Gurugram will be able to easily enjoy the valleys of Nainital and return even on a weekend without any long planning. With the ease of travel, there will be a huge record increase in the number of travelers visiting not only Nainital but also other beautiful tourist places around it like Bhimtal, Sattal, Naukuchiatal and Almora. After this good news, the faces of local hoteliers, taxi operators and small shopkeepers of Uttarakhand have blossomed, because the increase in tourist inflow will give a new impetus to the local economy.
