A very wonderful and great relief news is coming from the state government for lakhs of pensioners of Bihar. In the government led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Deputy Chief Minister cum Finance Minister Samrat Chaudhary has himself taken charge to solve the problems of pension holders. He held a high-profile review meeting with top officials of the Finance Department and related departments at the Secretariat. During this meeting, the Deputy CM strongly reprimanded the officers who were hanging the files related to pensioners and issued new strict instructions in clear words, due to which the elderly will now be freed from visiting the offices.

Instructions for immediate disposal of files and timely payment

During this important meeting, Samrat Chaudhary bluntly told the officials that retired employees and elderly pensioners should not face any problem for their pension and arrears. He ordered that the files of pensioners whose files are stuck in the departments due to technical reasons or paperwork, should be immediately verified and resolved within the time limit. Samrat Choudhary said that the pension amount should be directly transferred (DBT) to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries on the scheduled date of every month, delay in this will not be tolerated at any level.

Emphasis on further improving the digital system

In the meeting, the Deputy CM laid maximum emphasis on making the pension process completely transparent and digital. He said that the elderly should not have to stand in long queues at the district headquarters or banks to submit the Life Certificate or to know the status of their pension, for this the online portal and the counters at the block level should be made more active and user-friendly. Samrat Choudhary also suggested the officials to set up a special cell which will directly hear the pension related complaints and ensure their permanent solution within just a few days.

There is a wave of happiness among the elderly and families due to this step of the government.

After this quick and sensitive decision of Bihar government and Samrat Chaudhary, lakhs of pensioners and their families of the state have heaved a sigh of relief. Employees’ organizations have also welcomed this step of the government, saying that this will protect the self-respect of retired employees and they will not have to wander for their savings and rights in old age. Political experts believe that through this step the NDA government has made a successful attempt to woo a large and silent voter section of the state, whose direct positive impact can be seen in the coming days.
