A very sensitive and stressful news is coming out from Tundi area of Dhanbad district of Jharkhand. Suddenly the entire area went up in flames after banned meat was found in Mohanad village under Barwatand Panchayat of Tundi on Friday evening. Angered by this incident, hundreds of villagers surrounded the house of the accused from all sides and created a ruckus. The situation became so uncontrollable that the police who reached the spot had to resort to three rounds of aerial firing and lathi charge to safely get the accused out of the clutches of the crowd. At present, in view of the huge tension in the entire area, the SDM has imposed prohibitory orders (Section 144).

In connection with the incident, it is being told that a large quantity of banned meat was thrown on the banks of a pond located in Mohanad village. Some local children who had gone there to play were the first to see it and ran and informed their families. Within no time, this news spread like wildfire throughout the village, due to which the religious sentiments of the villagers were hurt and they became furious. Dozens of angry villagers gathered and marched straight towards Sarfuddin Ansari’s house. The villagers alleged that meat was also thrown around the house of the accused, which was later removed from there to destroy the evidence.
Anger flared up on seeing the vehicle loaded with cattle, the accused saved their lives by hiding in the house
The anger of the villagers reached the heights when Sarfuddin Ansari’s son Ashraf Ansari was seen coming towards his house with a goods vehicle. When the villagers stopped the vehicle in the middle of the road on the basis of suspicion, a cattle was loaded in it. Seeing this scene, the crowd’s patience broke. Sensing the violent attitude of the villagers, Ashraf Ansari and the driver of the vehicle, Manavvar Ansari, somehow escaped to save their lives and went inside their house and locked themselves. The angry mob surrounded his entire house and the atmosphere became extremely tense.
Police fired 3 rounds and lathicharged, SDM imposed prohibitory order
Seeing the seriousness of the matter, Tundi police station in-charge Umashankar immediately reached the spot with heavy police force. When the police tried to take the accused into custody, the angry mob was not ready to hand them over. After this, the police first resorted to lathicharge to control the situation and then fired three rounds in the air in self-defense. The crowd dispersed after firing and lathicharge, after which the police took the main accused Ashraf Ansari, his father Sarfuddin Ansari and driver Manavvar Ansari into safe custody.
In view of the communal tension in the village after this entire uproar, SDM Lokesh Barangay has imposed prohibitory order in the entire area with immediate effect. To maintain peace, a large number of additional police forces and district force personnel have been deployed in the entire Mohanad village. The station in-charge said that the three detained accused are being interrogated at a secret place and the situation is completely under control.
