The biggest and sensational news of this time is coming out from Latehar district of Jharkhand. Chandwa police station has conducted the biggest surgical strike till date against the black trade of illicit liquor. The police conducted a siege in a filmy style and seized a huge consignment of illegal English liquor worth about Rs 1.25 crore. This swift action has created panic in the entire syndicate and network of interstate liquor mafia. Police have seized a 12 wheeler truck, a Scorpio and a Creta car along with a huge quantity of foreign liquor from the spot.
Blockade in film style at Sasang turn, police became suspicious after seeing escorting vehicles
During the press conference held at Chandwa police station premises, SDPO Sandeep Kumar Gupta revealed this entire operation. He told that Latehar Superintendent of Police (SP) had received a strong secret information that a huge consignment of illicit liquor was being taken in a big truck from Ranchi towards Palamu-Garhwa.
As soon as the information was received, a special team was immediately formed on the instructions of the SP and an intensive vehicle checking campaign was started near Sasang Mor. Meanwhile, the police team saw that a Scorpio and a Creta car were moving ahead and a heavy 12 wheeler truck was coming right behind them. The police immediately suspected that these two VIP cars were escorting (lining) the truck laden with liquor to provide safe passage.
Liquor empire was hidden behind 200 sacks of paddy husk, 5 smugglers caught
As soon as the police team suddenly stopped the three vehicles by barricading near Sasang turn, the smugglers lost their senses and their faces turned white. When the police conducted a thorough search of the 12-wheeler truck, it was found that 200 sacks filled with paddy husk were loaded on top. But as soon as those sacks were removed, a huge liquor empire was hidden beneath. Along with this, a huge quantity of expensive English liquor was also recovered from the trunks of Scorpio and Creta cars.
The police showed promptness and arrested 5 active members of the gang from the spot. The arrested smugglers have been identified as Suraj Kumar, Prakash Kumar Ravani, Ramkumar Pandey, Gautam Kumar and Chhotu Kumar Yadav. However, taking advantage of the darkness and chaos, the main leader of this entire racket, Ranjit Yadav alias Golu and the driver of the truck managed to escape from the spot, for whose arrest the police are continuously conducting raids.

Even the police officers themselves were surprised to see the quantity of liquor recovered from trucks and cars. The list of total items recovered is as follows:

Luxury Vehicles: A 12 wheeler truck (RJ 19 GK 7002), a Scorpio (OD 23 H 7878) and a Creta car (JH 01 GA 4979).

Liquor consignment: 300 cases of Royal Challenge (180 ML), 714 cases of All Season Golden Collection Reserve Whiskey (180 ML), 20 cases of McDowell’s Whiskey (180 ML) and 20 cases of McDowell’s Whiskey (750 ML).

Other Ingredients: 200 sacks filled with paddy husk used to hide liquor.
