At present, two very different and shocking colors of nature are being seen in Uttar Pradesh. While one part of the state is burning like a fierce furnace due to the scorching heat and record-breaking heat, the other part has been wreaked havoc by dust storms and torrential rains. Amidst this dual nature of weather, people from Rohilkhand to Purvanchal have got some respite from the scorching heat, but due to storm and rain there has also been huge loss in the state. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning that the coming 48 hours are very sensitive for the state, because a new western disturbance is going to knock, due to which a huge drop of up to 8 degrees can be recorded in the temperature.
At some places the mercury crossed 47 and at some places there was a storm: condition of the districts.
These two colors of the weather have engulfed the entire Uttar Pradesh. On one hand, Banda district of Bundelkhand is facing the worst heat, the maximum temperature there has reached 47.4 degrees Celsius. Suryadev’s ferocious form continues in western UP too, where the temperature in Agra was recorded at 45.3 degrees.
On the contrary, in districts like Mathura along with areas of Purvanchal and Rohilkhand, heavy rains accompanied by strong thunderstorms completely changed the weather pattern and brought great relief to the people from the scorching heat. However, this deadly U-turn of the weather has also caused huge devastation in the state. So far, 10 people have died tragically due to storm, rain and falling of walls/trees in different districts of the state, which include districts like Sant Kabirnagar, Basti, Sitapur, Shahjahanpur, Kheri and Gonda.
The tables will turn in the next 48 hours, mercury will fall by 8 degrees
The Meteorological Department has made a big and relief prediction for the districts of Uttar Pradesh which are scorching due to heat and severe heat. According to IMD Lucknow, a new and very active Western Disturbance is going to hit the state within the next 48 hours. Due to the activation of this new weather system, there is every possibility of heavy rains along with stormy winds in many parts of the state. Due to this change, most of the cities of Uttar Pradesh may see a huge drop in day temperature by up to 8 degrees Celsius, which will provide great relief to the scorching districts.
After all, why are two colors of the season visible together? These are the 5 big reasons:
1. Pressure of cyclonic winds and increasing heat According to meteorologists, at present a special cyclonic circulation system is forming over the atmosphere of Central India. This system is pushing the extremely hot winds from above towards the ground, due to which the heat of the sun and heat waves are continuously increasing in the plains.
2. Disappearance of active weather system There was no strong or active weather system like anticyclone or western disturbance over the skies of UP for a long time. Due to this, the sky remained completely clear and the strong rays of the sun kept falling directly on the earth, which took the temperature to record levels.
3. Collision of extreme heat and moisture (trough line) A western disturbance was already active over Jammu and Kashmir. Here, due to the scorching heat in the plains of UP, the hot winds started rising rapidly. When the cold and moist air coming from above collided with this warm air, a trough was formed. Due to this conflict, suddenly a strong storm came from Central UP to Purvanchal and it started raining.
4. Dry ‘Pachua’ coming from Rajasthan Extremely hot and dry westerly winds coming from the neighboring state of Rajasthan are continuously blowing in the southern and western parts of Uttar Pradesh. This scorching weather pattern is continuously increasing the temperature, due to which the already scorching districts are becoming even hotter.
5. Weakening of easterly winds The impact of moist ‘Purva’ winds entering Uttar Pradesh from the Bay of Bengal has been very less and minimal this time. Due to lack of moisture the air has become completely dry. For example, the humidity in the capital Lucknow dropped to just 14 percent. Due to this very low level of moisture in the air, sunlight is heating the earth rapidly during the day.
