A Shower of Rewards Awaits UP’s Brightest Minds: CM Yogi Adityanath to Present ₹1 Lakh and a Tablet Each to 223 Top Performers. Rewards will be showered on the meritorious students of UP, CM Yogi Adityanath will give Rs 1 lakh each and tablets to 223 toppers.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is soon going to honor 223 meritorious students from various education boards in a grand state level felicitation ceremony. The state government has announced big awards to boost the morale of promising students. In this ceremony, each meritorious student will be honored with a cash amount of Rs 1 lakh, a branded tablet, medal and official citation.

In this state level dignified ceremony, students who have made it to the state level merit list (Top 10) of the High School and Intermediate Examination-2026 of Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Council (UP Board) have been included. In this, 115 meritorious high school students and 23 intermediate students will be honored directly by the Chief Minister.

A total of 223 toppers from various boards including 138 from UP Board will be honored.

In this grand program to be organized at the Chief Minister’s residence or Lok Bhavan, not only the UP Board, but also the meritorious students of other major boards operating in the state are being given an equal platform. The details of total 223 meritorious candidates are as follows:

  • UP Board: Total 138 meritorious (115 from high school and 23 from intermediate)

  • CISCE: Total 33 toppers

  • CBSE Board: Total 31 toppers

  • Sanskrit Education Board: Total 21 meritorious students

Celebration will be held at the district level also: 1,459 students will get Rs 21,000 each

Along with the state level main function, felicitation ceremonies will also be organized at the local level in all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh. In these district level programs, local students who have secured top-10 positions in the district-wise merit list of UP Board will be honored.

Under this, 687 high school and 772 intermediate meritorious students have been selected from the districts of the entire state. That is, the total including all 75 districts 1,459 meritorious students Will be honored at the district level. As an incentive to all the top 10 meritorious candidates of the district level merit list Cash amount of Rs 21-21 thousand, citation and medal Will be provided.

New rule in council schools: Students who read more books will become ‘Champion Reader of Year’

Yogi government is going to start a unique and excellent initiative to improve the level of education in the council primary and upper primary schools of Uttar Pradesh and to awaken the thirst for knowledge among the children. Now special emphasis is being laid on the habit of reading books and newspapers among the students in government schools.

Under the new rules of the Basic Education Department, now the promising student who reads and understands the most books from the school library in the entire academic session will be awarded the special award of ‘Champion Reader of the Year’.

‘Super-20’ and ‘Super-30’ reading challenge will be implemented

Minister of State for Basic Education (Independent Charge) Sandeep Singh has issued strict instructions to the top officials of the department that the system of reading newspapers in ‘reading hour’ and morning ‘assembly’ should be made mandatory and strictly implemented in all primary and upper primary schools.

  • Primary level (Class 1 to 5): In schools to develop reading ability in young children ‘Super-20’ Reading Challenge is being started.

  • Upper Primary Level (Class 6 to 8): For junior high school students ‘Super-30’ Reading Challenge The system is being implemented.

As per the instructions of the Basic Education Minister, school headmasters and teachers will have to motivate students to read informative books every day during ‘Reading Hour’. Along with this, in the daily morning prayer meeting, students will be made to read major news and newspapers of the country and the world, so that their General Knowledge (GK) and pronunciation of the language can be strengthened.
