There is a lot of turmoil in the energy markets at the international level due to the ongoing geopolitical tension between Iran, Israel and America and the unstable situation in West Asia. Due to this global crisis, concerns regarding the supply of LPG and petroleum products have increased in countries around the world including India. However, amidst all this, the matter of relief for Indian consumers is that the government has completely assured about the supply of domestic LPG in the country. The Central Government has clarified that there is no shortage of fuel in the country and the general public does not need to pay attention to any kind of rumour.
This global turmoil is having different effects on the domestic and commercial markets. Today i.e. on Wednesday (May 27, 2026), while the prices of 14.2 kg domestic gas cylinders have remained completely stable in different districts of Uttar Pradesh, the prices of 19 kg commercial gas cylinders used by traders, hotels and restaurants have remained above ₹ 3,000 due to the huge increase in the beginning of this month.
New prices of LPG today in major cities of Uttar Pradesh
There is slight variation in the prices of gas cylinders due to differences in local transport costs and taxes in different districts of Uttar Pradesh. Today the prices of both types of cylinders in the state are as follows:

Domestic consumers need not panic, cylinder will come home
In view of the ongoing ups and downs in neighboring countries and global politics, common consumers fear that there may be a shortage of LPG. The government and oil marketing companies (OMCs) have made it clear that there is no need for panic booking at all.
New refill rules and safety instructions:
As per the guidelines of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, to maintain the smooth supply system, a mandatory gap of 25 days between booking of gas refills is now applicable in urban areas and 45 days in rural areas. Additionally, to strengthen security and transparency now gas delivery time at your doorstep OTP Verification Has been made mandatory. When you book the cylinder, it will reach your home safely as before, only the delivery may take a little longer due to the pressure of global logistics.
