A wonderful and historic news is coming for lakhs of candidates of the country preparing for the Civil Services Examination of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). UPSC Chairman Dr. Ajay Kumar has announced a revolutionary reform to make the examination system more transparent and student-friendly. Under this new rule, now candidates will not have to wait for months for the official answer key. Now the Commission will make the provisional answer key live on its official portal within just a week of the completion of the preliminary examination.
UPSC Chairman reached the examination center in Meerut, gave big relief
This big announcement was made by UPSC Chairman Dr. Ajay Kumar himself on Sunday during a surprise inspection of various examination centers including ‘PMShri Kendriya Vidyalaya Dogra Lines’, Meerut. While talking to the media, he clarified that this new system will help the candidates to assess their performance accurately and immediately. Students will be able to check their OMR answers accurately through the official portal very soon.
Objections can be lodged till 31st May, system will become transparent
According to the instructions of the Chairman, till May 31, 2026, all the candidates will be able to see their answers and provisional answer keys by visiting the official portal of the Commission. If any candidate has any doubt, complaint or objection regarding any question or its option (answer) issued by the Commission, then they will be able to challenge it online on the portal itself with evidence.
New rules will be very strict: 3 authentic proofs will have to be uploaded
The Commission has made the rules quite stringent this time to keep the process of challenging the answers serious and error-free. While filing objection, candidates will have to keep these things in mind:

Exact Details: The challenging candidate will have to clearly state which option according to him is correct and what is the logical basis behind it.

Three proofs are mandatory: The most important and new condition is that to prove his claim true the candidate must at least Three authentic and reliable sources Pages and documents (like NCERT, standard reference books or government documents/reports) have to be uploaded.
Expert committee will decide: All the objections received from the candidates and the documentary evidence sent by them will be thoroughly reviewed by a special committee of subject experts of the Commission. Only after verification by experts and getting the green signal, ‘Final Answer Key’ will be prepared, on the basis of which the result of Prelims will be declared.
For the convenience of the candidates, 3 new examination centers including Meerut were built.
Encouraging the youth, Dr. Ajay Kumar said that UPSC exam is not just a competition, but it is a symbol of the dreams and aspirations of millions of promising youth of the country. There has never been any impact on the impartiality and credibility of the Commission and transparency will be kept paramount in future also.
He said that the Commission always endeavors to ensure that students do not have to undertake long and tiring journeys to appear for examinations. Keeping this in mind, this year three new cities have been added as examination centers in the country, which also includes Meerut city of Uttar Pradesh. This is the first time in the history of UPSC that the civil services examination is being conducted in Meerut. The Chairman greatly appreciated and expressed satisfaction with the security and administrative arrangements made by the Meerut District Administration for the examination.
