Major Twist in SSC Phase 14: Vacancies Increase, Yet Applicants Drop to Less Than Half Students Stunned by RTI Revelations. Big upset of SSC, posts increased in Phase 14 but less than half of applicants, students surprised by RTI revelations

A shocking and very rare data has come to light regarding the ‘Selection Post Phase-14 Recruitment 2026’ conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC), which has surprised everyone. Generally, it is seen in government jobs that whenever the number of posts increases in any recruitment, the queue of candidates applying also becomes longer. But this time the complete opposite has been seen in SSC Phase-14 recruitment. Despite increase in vacancy this year, the number of youth applying has remained less than half as compared to last year.

This sensational figure has been revealed by the Staff Selection Commission itself in response to the information sought by a candidate under Right to Information (RTI). According to the official reply of the Commission, this year only 11,22,086 applications have been received from across the country for this entire recruitment process.

Comparison with last year: Only 38% applicants remained

If we compare this year’s data with last year’s data of Staff Selection Commission, the difference may surprise anyone:

Recruitment Name (Year) Total Advertised Vacancies Total Applications Received
Phase-13 Recruitment (2025) 2,423 posts 29,40,175 applications
Phase-14 Recruitment (2026) 3,003 posts 11,22,086 applications

To be clear, this year the number of posts was increased by more than 500, but despite this the total number of applicants was only less than last year. 38 percent But it has come to a halt.
