“Now there will be ED raids in the state, NIA raids and our local police will also conduct vigorous raids. All the corruption that has taken place here – be it sand mafia, coal mafia, mega scam of government land or the case of looting of property of common people, all these things will be investigated in every detail. You can see that bulldozers have started in the state. All this is not going to stop now, it will continue continuously.”

Crackdown on MP Abhishek Banerjee, KMC issues property notice

Marathon interrogation of IAS Ansar Shaikh in sand mining scam

Central agency ED is currently tightening its grip not only on politicians but also on corrupt officials. On Wednesday, ED officials rigorously interrogated 2016 batch IAS officer Ansar Shaikh for hours at the CGO Complex in Salt Lake.

New rule on Bangladeshi infiltrators: Now no jail, Shubhendu government will send them directly across the border

While giving a very strict and historic decision on Thursday, Chief Minister Shubhendu Adhikari said that Bangladeshi infiltrators caught in the state will not be allowed to waste long time in the legal process by producing them in Indian courts.

The Chief Minister announced, ‘The new rule has come into effect from tomorrow. Now instead of sending the infiltrators to jail or court, they will be directly handed over to the Border Security Force (BSF) on the India-Bangladesh border, so that they can be deported back immediately. Political experts believe that this decision of the Shubhendu government has been taken under the strict provisions of the ‘Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025’ passed by the Parliament last year.
