Quoting global experts and intelligence reports, it is being claimed that Iran will not be limited to closing sea lanes only. He is reportedly planning a major simultaneous attack on three major oil infrastructure centers. Saudi Arabia’s Yanbu Port, UAE Fujairah and strategically important Bab-el-Mandeb Are included.
Fujairah is one of the largest bunkering centers in the world, from which fuel is supplied to ships. Yanbu is a major oil export center of Saudi Arabia. Attacking them means breaking the back of the global economy.
Bab-al-Mandeb: The ‘neck’ of the world which Iran is preparing to capture
After the Strait of Hormuz, Iran now has its eyes on the ‘Bab-al-Mandeb’ Strait. It is also called ‘Gate of Tears’. This route connects the Red Sea to the Gulf of Aden. Iran-backed Houthi rebels have already warned that if their interests are harmed, they will completely block the route.
Experts say that 50-60 lakh barrels of oil passes through this route alone every day. If both the Straits of Hormuz and Bab-el-Mandeb are closed, about one-third of the world’s oil trade will come to a halt, putting global trade worth $1 trillion (about Rs 94 lakh crore) at stake.

The main root of this entire tension is the ongoing conflict between Iran and America. Iran says that if the US tries to capture its Kharg island or carry out any kind of ground attack, it will make international trade routes a ‘no-go zone’. On the other hand, America is also strengthening its naval blockade. The ongoing direct war between Israel and Iran has also added fuel to the fire.

If Iran attacks these targets, its worst impact will be on oil importing countries like India.
