Amar Singh, MP from Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab, exposed a bitter truth of the state in the House. Many times, after marriage, girls come to know that their husband is a drug addict, which not only ruins their homes but also turns the lives of innocent women into hell.

At present no such health test is mandatory for marriage in India. However, some social organizations and doctors are already recommending testing for HIV and other genetic diseases.
