News India Live, Digital Desk: Land and compensation related to it has always been a sensitive issue in Jharkhand. Farmers and villagers hope for development by giving away their ancestral land, but what happens behind the scenes? Compensation money coming from the government treasury often ends up in the pockets of some corrupt people even before it reaches the needy.

But now the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has geared up to end this game. Recently, simultaneous raids (ACB Raid 2026) conducted in many big cities of Jharkhand have shaken everyone from government departments to the network of brokers.

Simultaneous raid in several cities (Multi-city ACB Action)

Many major cities of Jharkhand like Ranchi, Dhanbad and Jamshedpur were included in this action of ACB. The biggest aspect of this entire action is that it was kept secret. As soon as the team knocked at different places, many officers and brokers were caught red handed.

So far in this big land compensation scam 18 people arrested has been carried out. This includes not only private people, but also those parts of the government machinery who flouted the rules.

How was the ‘business’ of compensation conducted?

If sources are to be believed, the documents of people whose land was taken for highways, dams or government projects were falsified. Fake beneficiaries were created and money worth crores was withdrawn from the government treasury. Many times the real owners were not even aware and the compensation in their name was diverted elsewhere. This arrest of 18 people is the first layer of this dark act.

Now zero tolerance on corruption

This big strike by ACB is a strong message amidst the scams coming one after the other in Jharkhand. This raid shows that now negligence and greed in government work can prove costly. During the raid, the team has found a large amount of incriminating documents, bank passbooks and many important clues, due to which the number of arrests may increase further in the coming days.

Will the poor get their rights now?

Many villagers who were victims of land scam now have hope for justice. Common people believe that mere arrests are not enough, but those innocent people on whose lands big projects are standing today should get their money back.

After this incident, files in other departments have also started being scrutinized. Was it limited to just one department or did it have deeper roots? This will become clear in further investigation. At present, the arrest of 18 accused is the beginning of removing the poison from the system.
