News India Live, Digital Desk: Sometimes it seems impossible for children from middle class families to study ‘management’, but Delhi University changes this thinking. Departments like ‘Department of Financial Studies’ (DFS) and ‘Department of Commerce’ offer such courses, after completing which one gets the opportunity to work in top companies.
For which courses have applications started?
MBA seats are being filled in DU mainly in three different categories:
- MBA (Finance) and MBA (Business Economics): Both these courses are famous programs of South Campus of Delhi University. If you are interested in understanding the world of money or the intricacies of the market, then you can apply for these. Last date of application 11 January 2026 Is.
- MBA in International Business (IB), Human Resource Development (HRD) and Business Analytics (BA): These courses are taught under Delhi School of Economics (DSE). Last date to fill form for these 19 January 2026 Has been decided.
What is the eligibility for admission?
To get admission you must have certain eligibility criteria:
- You must have completed graduation from a recognized university.
- For general category, it is necessary to have at least 50% marks in graduation. (Relaxation is given for SC/ST/OBC and other categories as per rules).
- Keep one important thing in mind – for MBA Finance and Business Economics, it is mandatory to have ‘Mathematics’ subject in class 12th.
Selection Process: CAT score alone is not enough
Admission is not based on CAT scores alone. In this, your high school (10th) and intermediate (12th) marks are also given weightage. Shortlisted students will be called for group discussion and interview. That means, if your academic record has been good from the beginning, then your chances increase further.
How to apply?
You will have to register yourself by visiting the official website of Delhi University. Visit the website and check carefully which course you are interested in, as the application links for Finance and Commerce departments may be different. The form fee is around Rs 2000 for general category.
My Opinion:
MBA is not just a degree, it is a means of networking and personality development. If your budget is low and you want exposure to a city like Delhi, then you will hardly find a better option than DU anywhere in India. The dates are close, so it would be wise to apply now to avoid the rush on the last day.
