School holiday: Big relief for students! Summer holidays in schools will be longer this year, State Board released holiday calendar

2024 Summer Vacation in Schools: The month of April has come. The exams are over. A new session is starting in schools. With this, the wait for those days has begun for which not only the children but also their parents are excited. Summer vacation means summer holidays. So this year your happiness is going to increase a lot. Because the summer holidays in 2024 are going to be longer. Yes, in 2024, a few more days have been added to the school summer holidays than before. The reason is Lok Sabha elections. WBBSE has taken this decision. Apart from this, the new WB Board School Holiday Calendar 2024 has also been released.

WBBSE is the state board of education of West Bengal. It has released the summer vacation schedule for the year 2024 in West Bengal. If you look at the list, you will know that changes have been made keeping in mind the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. School holidays will be extended by 12 days in different districts. This will increase the total duration of holidays.

It is noteworthy that the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in West Bengal are going to be held in seven phases. In view of this, the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) has carefully prepared the School Holidays Calendar 2024 to sync with the election process.

West Bengal: List of holidays in primary schools

Educational institutions in Cooch Behar, Alipurduar and Jalpaiguri districts will remain closed from April 16 to April 20. Similarly, schools in districts like Darjeeling, Kalimpong, North Dinajpur and South Dinajpur will remain closed from April 24 to April 27. All academic activities will continue to be suspended during these scheduled periods.

West Bengal: List of holidays for secondary schools

In the year 2024, summer holidays in West Bengal will start from 6th May and will continue till 2nd June. This includes a total of 22 days of holidays excluding public holidays and Sundays. Schools will remain closed during this period. Due to which students and teachers will get adequate time to rest.
