News India Live, Digital Desk: While the INDIA alliance has suffered a major setback due to major upheavals in the politics of Bihar and Nitish Kumar switching sides to NDA, now serious questions have started being raised within this alliance itself regarding the leadership. Adding fuel to the fire of defeat has been the statement of a leader associated with Samajwadi Party (SP), who has now directly questioned the leadership of Rahul Gandhi and demanded to make Akhilesh Yadav the face of the alliance.
This statement can fuel the smoldering spark which was already burning internally regarding seat distribution and leadership in the alliance.
Who made this big demand and why?
This demand has been raised by the spokesperson of Samajwadi Party and the leader who presented the party’s side in a TV debate. He has directly blamed the top leadership of Congress, especially Rahul Gandhi, for the fall of the Congress and RJD governments in Bihar.
he argued:
- “Alliance broken because of Congress”: The SP leader said that Congress remained adamant on its insistence and kept delaying in making a big leader like Nitish Kumar the convenor, due to which Nitish decided to leave the alliance.
- “Rahul Gandhi did not even pick up the phone”: He also alleged that when the crisis in Bihar was deepening, Nitish Kumar tried to talk to Rahul Gandhi, but he did not even consider it necessary to pick up the phone. This arrogance became the reason for the breakup of the alliance.
- “Akhilesh is the real option”: The SP leader said, “It has been proved that this alliance cannot run under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi. Now the time has come that a young and dynamic leader like Akhilesh Yadav ji should be handed over the command of the INDIA alliance.” He said that Akhilesh is the only leader who can take all the regional parties together.
Will Akhilesh become the face of India?
Although this statement is from a party spokesperson, it cannot be dismissed as just a personal opinion. This shows the growing distance and distrust between the Samajwadi Party and the Congress.
- There is a problem in seats in UP: In Uttar Pradesh too, the tussle between SP and Congress continues over the distribution of Lok Sabha seats. Akhilesh Yadav has already made it clear that he is in no mood to give too many seats to Congress.
- Increasing pressure from regional parties: Mamata Banerjee in Bengal, Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi and now Akhilesh Yadav in UP, all the regional parties are continuously putting pressure on Congress. After the incident in Bihar, now they will present their views more strongly.
This demand has emerged as a big challenge for the INDIA alliance. On one hand, the chariot of BJP is continuously moving forward, while on the other hand, the opposition has not yet decided who will be the charioteer who will stop this chariot. Only time will tell whether Congress will wake up after this shock or whether the cracks in the alliance will deepen further.
