News India Live, Digital Desk: A big question is echoing in the politics of Bangladesh these days – will former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina return to her country? Sheikh Hasina, who has been living in India since the massive protests in August last year, has hinted at her return, but for this she has also put some strict conditions before the current interim government of Bangladesh.

The thing is that Sheikh Hasina wants to return to politics, but on her own terms. She has made it clear that she will not return until her demands are met. Let us know what their conditions are.

First condition – Restoration of democracy: Sheikh Hasina’s biggest and first demand is to re-establish “participatory democracy” in Bangladesh. This means that such an electoral environment should be created in the country where all political parties get an equal opportunity.

Second condition – Ban removed from the party: His second important condition is to lift the ban on his party ‘Awami League’. Let us tell you that the present government has banned all the political activities of Awami League. Hasina believes that without her party, no election in the country can be neither fair nor credible.

Third condition – Fair elections: Sheikh Hasina has demanded a free and fair election in the country as the third condition. He says that unless the election process is transparent and inclusive, there is no point in his return.

In an interview from India, he also accused the current Mohammad Yunus government of spoiling Bangladesh’s relations with India. However, he also thanked the Indian government for providing shelter in difficult times.

You will remember that Sheikh Hasina had to leave the post of Prime Minister after the massive student agitation and violent demonstrations in July-August last year, after which she came to India. There are allegations against his government of using force during the movement and a case is also going on against him.

Now the ball is completely in the court of the interim government of Bangladesh. It remains to be seen whether she accepts these conditions of Sheikh Hasina or not. If these conditions are accepted, then a new chapter can begin in the politics of Bangladesh and the political equations there can completely change with the return of Sheikh Hasina.
