She breathed her last at her home in Mumbai on 14 November 2025. There is a wave of mourning in the entire film industry due to his demise. She remained active in acting even in her late age and appeared in films like ‘Chennai Express’, ‘Kabir Singh’ (2019) and ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’ (2022). She played the memorable role of Shahid Kapoor’s grandmother in ‘Kabir Singh’.
