News India Live, Digital Desk: New Education Policy : Did my child reach school today or not? He showed homework in class? How many marks did you get in the test?” – These are some of the questions that come to the minds of parents of lakhs of children studying in government schools of Delhi every day. Now they will get answers to all these questions with just one click on their mobile phones.

Delhi government has launched a new ‘School Web App’ to make the lives of parents and teachers easier. This app is a digital platform where parents will be able to keep an eye on every small and big activity related to their child’s school. Now they will not have to call the teacher again and again or make rounds of the school.

What will you get on this app?

Imagine, your child’s entire school diary will now be in your phone. Through this app you will get all this information:

  • Daily Attendance: Now the information about which day the child came to school and on which day not will be updated daily. Now children will not be able to make excuses for bunking school.
  • Result and Performance: From class tests to final exams, your child’s results will be delivered directly to your app. You will be able to easily see in which subjects your child is smart and where he needs more effort.
  • Homework Update: You will also get information about the homework given by the teacher today from the app. Even if the child is on leave, he will not miss his work.
  • School Time Table: You will be able to see which class will be held on which day and when is the period for which subject.

Why was this app launched?

The purpose of launching this app is not just to use technology but also to connect parents with the school. According to Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood, this app takes forward the ‘Digital India’ vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The biggest benefit of this app will be that the paper work of teachers will be reduced and they will be able to concentrate more on teaching children. At the same time, when parents get continuous information about their child’s progress, they will also be able to help him in his studies in a better way. This step has also been taken keeping in mind the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

At present this app has been started as a pilot project in 15 MCD schools. If it is successful, it will be implemented in all 1,512 government schools of Delhi in the next two months. This initiative is a big step towards making Delhi’s government education system more modern and transparent.
