Bihar Assembly Elections: Holiday in 17 districts

Voting for the first phase of assembly elections 2025 is taking place today in Bihar. In order to conduct the election process smoothly and peacefully, on the instructions of the Election Commission, holiday has been declared in all government and private schools, colleges and other educational institutions in 17 districts.

Schools are closed in these districts:
Patna, Darbhanga, Madhepura, Saharsa, Muzaffarpur, Gopalganj, Siwan, Saran, Vaishali, Samastipur, Begusarai, Lakhisarai, Munger, Sheikhpura, Nalanda, Buxar and Bhojpur.

Many schools have been made polling stations and a large number of teachers and staff have been deployed for election duty. This holiday will also make it easier for parents of students and school staff to cast their votes.

Students got two consecutive holidays

Students in Bihar have got leave for two consecutive days. There was also a holiday in schools on Wednesday, November 5, just a day before the election holiday of November 6, on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti and Kartik Purnima.

Kartik fair holiday in Anupshahr, Uttar Pradesh

Schools are also closed due to ‘Lakkhi Kartik Purnima Ganga Snan Mela’ being organized in Anupshahr tehsil area of ​​Bulandshahr district of neighboring state Uttar Pradesh. Here, on the orders of the District Magistrate, holiday was declared in all government and private schools from November 3 to November 6. This decision was taken keeping in mind the safety of the students in view of the huge crowd and traffic during the fair.
