News India Live, Digital Desk: Another controversy has come to light from the politics of Uttar Pradesh. Mata Prasad Pandey, senior politician of the state and former assembly president of the assembly, was stopped from going to Bareilly, on which he became very angry. Flawing up this action of the police and administration, he fought sharp questions and said, “He writes a letter to us?”. He fiercely fired his anger, accusing the administration of working arbitrarily.
What is the whole matter?
Mata Prasad Pandey wanted to go to Bareilly, but the local administration stopped him from entering the city. It is believed that this action was taken in view of the recent riots or stressful atmosphere in Bareilly, due to which Section 144 or similar restrictions were applicable. The administration often controls the movement of political and sensitive persons to maintain peace in such a situation.
Mata Prasad Pandey’s hard reaction:
Former speaker Mata Prasad Pandey raised strict objections to the administration to stop him. He questioned the officials that being an MLA, and as the former Speaker of the Assembly, can he order this by writing a letter to him? According to him, this action was a violation of the protocol and did not have respectable behavior with political personalities. He said that this is a kind of dictatorship where people are being prevented from walking according to their mind.
This incident has again raised questions on political and administrative control in Uttar Pradesh. The opposition has often been accusing the BJP government of suppressing the voice of political rivals and adopting a dictatorial attitude. Stopping a senior leader like Mata Prasad Pandey in this way can definitely bring more political storms in the coming days.
