Here you have to pay a fee to use ad-free Facebook and Instagram. Meta had taken a decision in this regard some time ago. This was part of the company's subscription model. An announcement was made by Meta in this regard. Now new information related to this has come to light.

The company has reduced the fees of the subscription model. The fee for Facebook has been reduced to EUR 5.99 (approximately Rs 540). At the same time, the fee for Instagram has been reduced to EUR 9.99 (approximately Rs 900). The company has taken this decision keeping privacy in mind. In fact, this policy was being opposed by privacy activists and consumer groups in Europe.

On behalf of Meta it was said that this fee will have to be paid to ensure confidentiality. Actually Meta used to use the data of its users, but after the new data privacy law of European rules, Meta had decided to charge for not being able to access the data. There was a lot of opposition to this rule, which came into effect in November. This charge was being collected from users of 18 years of age or older.

Meta charge was implemented for the European Union and countries like Switzerland. After coming into effect from November 1, it was initially priced at 9.99 euros (about Rs 880) per month. Also, iOS and Android users were asked to pay 12.99 euros (about Rs 1,100). However, this has now been reduced significantly. Still some organizations are opposing it. He says that it is the company's job to maintain people's privacy. Users should not be charged for this.
