
Once again the earth has been shaken by earthquake tremors. A strong earthquake occurred in Myanmar late night, causing panic among the people. Although no casualties were reported due to the earthquake, people came out of their homes as doors and windows shook and utensils fell.
A 5.1 magnitude earthquake struck Myanmar earlier this week
The earthquake occurred at around 1 o’clock in the night. The intensity of this earthquake was measured 4.8 on the Richter scale. The epicenter of this earthquake was found at a depth of 106 kilometers from the earth. The National Center for Seismology (NCS) confirmed this and said that a 5.1 magnitude earthquake had struck Myanmar earlier this week. Earlier in December there was an earthquake of 4.2 magnitude
Earthquakes occurred in Afghanistan and Philippines
Apart from Myanmar, earthquakes also occurred in Afghanistan, Tibet and Philippines. Two earthquakes occurred in the Philippines. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) confirmed the earthquake and said the first quake had a magnitude of 5.4 and the second quake had a magnitude of 5.9. People were alerted by issuing a bulletin regarding the earthquake. The epicenter of the earthquake was found in San Francisco city of Leyte province at a depth of 6 miles or about 10 kilometers below the earth’s surface.
People frightened by the earthquake were seen spending the whole day under the open sky.
The tremors of the earthquake were so strong that the roofs and walls of people’s houses broke. Roads in many cities were also damaged. The road broke on the national highway, so the highway was closed for traffic. San Francisco Police Chief Barney Capping deployed troops throughout the city to monitor the public. People frightened by the earthquake were seen spending the whole day under the open sky. The police sent people home after giving assurance.
