Discussion has been going on for two days between the ruling party and the opposition under Constitution@75 in the Lok Sabha. Both the parties are face to face in support and opposition regarding the work done as per the Constitution. The merits and demerits of each other’s actions during the last 75 years of being in power are being blamed on big and small lines. Although Congress has been in power for a long time and now the Modi government at the Center also starts its talk from here that how Congress has brought little benefit and much loss to the country.
The opposition party is also presenting its views with arguments. In this open discussion on the Constitution, an effort is being made to clarify which party’s government has been successful in running the country according to the Constitution in these seven and a half decades. On the other hand, there is an atmosphere of complete rivalry between the two parties. The country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi has even said that Congress is guilty of insulting the Constitution. He says that Congress never respected the Constitution. Modi publicized with great enthusiasm that whatever work is being done in his government, it is being done keeping in mind the basic spirit of the Constitution.
From Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru to Dr. Manmohan Singh’s tenure in Congress, PM Modi has also put him in the dock. At the same time, the opposition parties are also not failing to read everything carefully and give twists and turns. Congress leader of opposition Rahul Gandhi said in the same discussion that the central government, like Eklavya, has cut off the thumb of the farmers and the poor.
Rahul Gandhi says that the present government has established a monopoly of a particular class of industrialists in the entire country. However, Rahul Gandhi has also mentioned Savarkar in a special way and has asked a big question to the present BJP government. However, this is not the first time that both the parties have become a topic of discussion by surrounding each other’s actions with ‘underline’ questions and counterattacking. It is an opportunity to reflect and discuss the glorious journey of the Constitution since independence.
What should also happen is that the points on which any government has failed to act in accordance with the Constitution should be circled. The shortcomings should be pointed out but along with this it should also be told how the Constitution can be used together for the development of the country.
Provided that there is a debate on who has been able to take the country forward and backward according to each section of the Constitution, then it should be understood that the country stands on the pillar of the Constitution and not on unnecessary political choices.
