Weather update: Cold wave, dense fog in 11 states

There is bone-chilling cold across the country. On the other hand, a severe cyclonic storm is knocking. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of cold wave, dense fog, snowfall and heavy rain across the country for the next one week.

 

Western disturbance is also active

According to media reports, there are many reasons for increasing cold. For example, cold winds are blowing at a speed of 278 km per hour at a height of 12.6 km in west-north India. Western disturbance is also active, due to which snow is melting and North India-Central India is in the grip of dry cold.

Due to this effect, warnings of heavy rain have been issued in many states of South India.

Weather will remain like this for 7 days across the country

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of cold wave to severe cold wave in Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand. Today, on 14th December, it is extremely cold in different parts of Madhya Pradesh.

Dense fog may prevail in Odisha, Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura till December 20. There is a possibility of frost on the ground in different parts of Uttarakhand and eastern Uttar Pradesh. Heavy to very heavy rain has been warned in the South Indian states of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka, Puducherry.
