Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy: Both the semi-finals of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy will be played in Bengaluru on Friday. In the first semi-final, Mumbai team will face Baroda while the second semi-final will be played between Delhi and Madhya Pradesh. Mumbai is captained by Shreyas Iyer while Baroda’s captaincy is in the hands of Krunal Pandya. Hardik Pandya will also be seen playing for Baroda, who has been performing well with bat and ball so far in this tournament. It was not easy for Baroda to qualify for the knockout. In Group B, Saurashtra and Gujarat had the same 24 points but managed to advance on the basis of better run rate.

Baroda has T20 stalwarts like Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya, but still none of their players feature in the top 10 list of batsmen or bowlers. This shows that all the players of Baroda have contributed well so far due to which their team has reached the semi-finals. Fast bowler Atit Seth has taken 13 wickets for Baroda but he is ranked 11th in the list of highest wicket takers in the tournament. Young batsman Bhanu Paniya has scored 271 runs for Baroda so far but he is at 18th position in the list of batsmen.

Mumbai’s batsmen and bowlers will have to perform at their best.

In the quarter-final match against Bengal, all the players of Baroda contributed from their side, due to which the team was successful in winning the match. As far as Mumbai is concerned, it did not face any special challenge in Group E. For the first time, he had to face any kind of challenge in the quarter-finals against Vidarbha. Now if Mumbai has to overcome the tough challenge from Baroda, then its batsmen and bowlers will have to give their best performance.

The first semi-final will be played at 11 am

Delhi’s defeat to Madhya Pradesh in the second semi-final looks a bit difficult because the team captained by Ayush Badoni has shown its all-round game so far. However, both the teams have a good mix of experience and youth and it is likely to be an exciting match. The first semi-final between Mumbai and Baroda will start at 11:00 am while the second semi-final between Delhi and Madhya Pradesh will be played at 4:30 am.
