3 former South African players arrested on charges of fixing: A case of match fixing has come to light in South Africa. Three former South African cricketers have been arrested on charges of fixing. Former fast bowlers Lonwo Tsotsobe, Thamsanqa Tsolekile and Athi Bhalati have been arrested on charges of fixing during the 2015–16 T20 Ram Slam Challenge.

Athi Bhalati was arrested on 18 November and Tsolekile and Tsotsobe were arrested on 28 and 29 November. The arrest was made following an investigation by the corruption investigation unit of DPCE.
The case was adjourned till 26 February
And Bhalati was brought before the Special Commercial Crimes Court in Pretoria. His case has been adjourned to February 20, 2025. Tsolekile and Tsotsobe are charged with five counts of corruption. His case was heard on November 29 and has now been adjourned to February 26, 2025.
Cricketers came under suspicion after Ghulam Bodi’s involvement was exposed
All three former cricketers came under suspicion when the anti-corruption officer of Cricket South Africa revealed the involvement of former player Ghulam Bodi in match fixing. Investigation revealed that Bodi, in connivance with Indian bookies, had contacted these three players and asked them to fix matches in the T20 RAM Slam. Bodie was arrested in July 2018 and sentenced to five years in prison in October 2019 after pleading guilty to eight crimes.

Lonwo Tsotsobe has taken more than 100 wickets in international cricket for South Africa. He made his ODI debut for the African team in 2009. After this, he played his last ODI match against India in 2013. For Africa, Lenovo has taken 9 wickets in Tests, 94 wickets in ODIs and a total of 18 wickets in T20 Internationals.
