India beats Pakistan 5-2 in SAFF women's football

With the help of captain Ashalata Devi's 100th international match and striker Ngangom Baladevi's 50 goals, India defeated arch-rivals Pakistan 5-2 in the Group A match of the SAFF Women's Football Championship.

In the group of three teams, India won the match and secured three consecutive points along with Bangladesh. For India, Grace scored in the fifth and 42nd minutes, Manisha in the 17th, Bala in the 35th and Jyoti scored in the 78th minute. For Pakistan, Hirani Suha scored in the 45th plus second minute (total 47 minutes) and Kayla Marie Siddiqui scored in the 47th minute. A total of four matches have been played between the two teams at the international level so far and the Indian team has won all of them. Jyoti scored her first goal at the senior level. Ashalata Devi became the first Indian female footballer to complete 100 international matches for India.
