AAP government failed to control pollution

State Congress President Devendra Yadav has accused the AAP government of failing to curb pollution even during its 10-year rule. He said that undoubtedly, control over firecrackers is an effective step to stop pollution in Delhi, but why do Environment Minister Gopal Rai and former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal not consider stubble burning in Punjab as the reason for the increasing pollution in Delhi, while Haryana is responsible for the pollution in Delhi. Including NCR region is being considered responsible.

Yadav said that former Chief Minister Kejriwal had promised to eliminate three landfills, the biggest cause of pollution in Delhi, before the Municipal Corporation elections and after the Municipal Corporation came to power. Minister Kailash Gehlot had given a statement in the Assembly that Okhla Landfill will be completed by December 2023, Bhalswa Landfill by March 2024 and Ghazipur Landfill by December 2024.

Both water and air pollution are of concern in the capital, which adversely affects people's health. Yadav said that in the last 10 years, the Delhi government has failed to control pollution despite taking other measures like odd-even, switching off red lights in cars, smog towers, sprinkling of water on roads and vehicles.
