Forbesganj/Araria, October 7 (HS). Angry villagers of Lakshmipur ward number four of Kursakanta block of Araria protested on Monday by stopping the construction work of the railway bridge, demanding increase in the length of the railway bridge.

Villagers Hem Narayan Mandal, Ashish Kumar Mandal, Saurabh Kumar, Manish Kumar, Santosh Kumar, Madhusudan Mandal, Sunita Devi, Nageshwar Paswan, Aditya Kumar, Sarvanand Jha etc. told that due to the high height of the new railway line being built from Araria to Galgaliya. Due to this, flood and rain water is not able to come out. Due to this, water accumulates in the courtyards and doors of people's homes.

Due to lack of proper drainage system, it becomes difficult to even go out of the house. There will be no benefit of building a 20 feet railway bridge. The villagers said that they will not allow the work to be done unless the Railways builds a bridge at least a hundred feet bigger. Similarly, Railway Engineer Prashant Ghosh said that applications have been taken from the villagers to increase the length of the bridge.
