7 killed, more than 80 injured due to wooden platform collapse during religious program in Barot

A major accident occurred on Tuesday morning in Baraut town of Baghpat district of Uttar Pradesh. During the religious program organized on the Nirvana Laddu festival of Lord Adinath, temporary stairs made of wood collapsed in the Maan Pillar complex. Seven devotees died tragically in the accident, including two women and five men. In addition, more than 80 devotees were injured.

Stirred after the accident

After the incident, the relatives of the deceased and the people of the society started creating a ruckus opposing the post -mortem. People surrounded DM and SP and had a sharp debate. Superintendent of Police Arpit Vijayvargiya arrived on the spot with a heavy police force and got involved in relief and rescue operations. The injured include men and children with men. The injured were rushed to the hospital in an e-rickshaw due to the ambulance of the ambulance.

How did the accident happen?

The incident took place at the grounds of Shri Digambar Jain Degree College on Gandhi Road in Baraut city. A 65 feet high wooden platform was prepared here under the Nirvana Festival of Lord Adinath. As soon as the devotees started climbing temporary stairs to anoint the statue seated in the Maan Pillar, the stairs suddenly collapsed. The people below the stairs also were buried.

There was a stampede among devotees

As soon as the stairs fell, there was a stampede on the spot. People started running around to save their lives. The injured were immediately rushed to the hospital. However, due to lack of adequate ambulances, many injured were taken to the hospital in e-rickshaws and private vehicles.

Instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath

Seeing the seriousness of the incident, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath immediately took cognizance of this. He instructed the district administration to take the injured to the hospital as soon as possible and properly treatment. The Chief Minister has also wished the injured to recover quickly.

Relief and rescue work at the scene

Police and administrative officials are constantly engaged in relief and rescue operations. The injured were referred to the district hospital and Meerut in critical condition after first aid. The cause of the accident is being investigated.

Demand for society and family

After the accident, the families of the deceased are opposing the post -mortem. The people of the society have demanded action against the people responsible for this incident.

This incident is heartbreaking not only for Baghpat but for the entire state. This incident has exposed the need for security arrangements and strong construction in religious events.
