Decision to remove examinations from Prayagraj due to Mahakumbh
The GATE exam is conducted by IIT Roorkee, and IIT Delhi. Both institutions issued a statement saying that on February 1 and 2, there will be a crowd of millions of devotees during the Mahakumbh in Prayagraj.
Apart from this, the nectar bath of Basant Panchami is also going to take place on 3 February, which will lead to excessive crowd and traffic jam in Prayagraj.
Many candidates had expressed concern about this congestion and applied for possible difficulties in reaching the examination center. Keeping these requests in mind, it was decided to transfer the examination centers to Lucknow.
