Mathura: The 24 hours proved to be extremely heavy and painful for the religious city of Mathura. From Sunday night till Monday evening, nine people lost their lives in three separate fatal road accidents in the district, leaving many families in mourning. The dead also include three friends and three members of the same family who were going to visit the Banke Bihari temple in Vrindavan. These accidents have once again exposed the havoc of speeding on the road.

Even before darshan, time surrounded: speeding car rammed into tractor, 3 friends died

The first and most serious accident happened on Bareilly-Mathura Highway in Raya at around 1 am on Sunday night. Four friends from Shahjahanpur – Saurabh Verma (33), Nikunj Gupta (27), Rajan Gupta (31), and Raja Bhardwaj (28) – were going to Vrindavan in their car to visit Banke Bihari Ji.

According to the police, his car was traveling at a top speed of 100-120 kilometers per hour when the driver misjudged the speed of a tractor-trolley moving ahead and the car plowed straight into the trolley.

Mathura DSP Sanjeev Kumar Rai said, “The collision was so severe that one person died on the spot.” The front part of the car was completely shattered and the people sitting in front were trapped in it. The remaining three injured were taken to the hospital, where Nikunj and Rajan also died during treatment. Of the four friends, only Raja Bhardwaj has survived, whose condition is also critical. The tractor driver fled from the spot, but the police have seized the tractor and are investigating.

While going for happiness, the bike fell into the canal, 3 brothers drowned

Hardly had the news of the first accident subsided that the same night another heart-wrenching incident came to light. Three cousins ​​– Kanhaiya Singh (25), Ankush Singh (23), and Praveen Singh (22) – were on their way to attend an engagement ceremony at a relative’s place in Govardhan area.

Just 250 meters before the destination, Kanhaiya, who was riding the bike at a sharp turn in the dark of night, lost control and the bike fell straight into the canal. When the villagers who were warming a bonfire nearby heard a loud splash, they informed the police. By the time the three brothers were taken out of the canal, they were dead. Kanhaiya, who lost his life in this accident, had become the father of a child only two months ago.

Family destroyed in one stroke: Speeding truck crushed bike, 3 including woman and 2 year old girl died

This series of deaths did not stop even on Monday evening. On Farah Service Road, a speeding truck hit a bike on which four people of the same family were riding.

Sibu, a resident of Agra, was returning home on a bike with his aunt Guddi (40), sister Rukhsar (22) and two-year-old innocent daughter Mahi, when the accident happened. As soon as the collision occurred, all four jumped off the bike and fell away. In this tragic accident, Guddi, Rukhsar and 2 year old Mahi died on the spot, while Sibu got injured. Police have seized the truck and are investigating further.
