News India Live, Digital Desk: Mourning on Independence Day: While Independence Day was being celebrated on August 15 across the country, happiness in a family in Begusarai, Bihar turned into mourning. Ayush Kumar, a 14-year-old student of ninth grade, died after being hit by a high-voltage wire of 11,000 volts of ninth grade in a tragic accident while carrying out the flag at Utrmita Middle School in Paharchak, Begusarai. In this incident, two other classmates of Ayush were also scorched, who are currently undergoing treatment in a private hospital.

The incident occurred when he was being removed from the school premises on Friday evening after hoisting the national flag. The long iron pillar used to remove the flag was suddenly touched by high-voltage power wire of 11,000 volts passing above, causing AYUSH to be hit and died on the spot.

Local people and family members of the deceased Ayush have accused the power department of gross negligence behind this painful accident.[2][5] He says that no security cover was imposed on these high-voltage wires passing over the school and densely populated area and the department did not fix it despite repeated complaints. If these wires had been secured in time, then this tragic incident could have been postponed. Ayush’s father Ajit Paswan, who is a daily wage laborer, is completely insensitive by the death of his only son and has a mourning atmosphere in the entire area.

As soon as the information of the incident was received, the police and electricity department officials reached the spot, the Mufassil police station conducted a post -mortem of the body of Ayush and started investigating further. At the same time, the villagers have demanded from the administration that to prevent such accidents, high-voltage lines passing through schools and residential areas should either be removed or completely secured. He has also demanded full expenses for the treatment of injured children and compensation for the family of the deceased child. The District Education Officer and the District Magistrate have also sought an investigation report of this incident. This incident has once again raised serious questions on the power security arrangements in Bihar, because in Begusarai, many incidents of deaths due to the negligence of the electricity department have come to light due to the wire of 11 thousand volts.
