News India Live, Digital Desk: The election atmosphere in Bihar is in full swing and there is an uproar over ticket distribution. Amidst this chaos, RJD’s ‘Bahubali’ MLA lodged in Beur jail of Patna. Ritlal Yadav The expectations have suffered a major blow. Ritlal Yadav was hoping to come out on bail just before the elections, but Patna High Court postponed the hearing on his bail plea on Tuesday. Now he will have to wait longer to come out of jail.
Court time ended, hearing postponed
Ritlal Yadav, who is the RJD MLA from Danapur, is currently facing an Enforcement Directorate (ED) investigation in a serious money laundering case and is in judicial custody in this connection. His bail application was to be heard in Patna High Court on Tuesday. His lawyers and supporters were holding out hope throughout the day that maybe he would get relief from the court and he could become active in the election field.
But what happened was that the court time was over and his petition could not come up for hearing. Due to this, the court postponed the hearing till the next date.
What is the whole matter?
Ritlal Yadav’s problems are not new. Many serious criminal cases are registered against him. This money laundering case is also related to an old case. In fact, a few years ago, dangerous weapons like AK-47 were recovered from Ritlal Yadav’s hideouts. Based on the investigation of the same case, ED registered a case of money laundering and also confiscated his property worth crores. He has been in jail for a long time in this case.
Why is this a big blow for RJD amid elections?
Ritlal Yadav has the image of a ‘Bahubali’ leader and is considered to have considerable influence in Danapur and surrounding areas. In such a situation, if he had come out on bail just before the elections, he could have worked as a big ‘booster’ for RJD. But now due to postponement of the hearing, RJD’s electoral mathematics may get spoiled a bit.
Now everyone’s eyes are on the next hearing of Patna High Court. It remains to be seen whether Ritlal Yadav will get freedom from jail before the elections or whether he will be put behind bars for his politics.
